Cave diving
To our certified cave diver guests we here at Xibalba Dive Center offer a number of different dive opportunities.
We would like to share our information about the different cave systems with you, show you the routes of suggested dive sites or offer you the use of our maps to safely plan your dives. We also sell the official QRSS cave maps. We rent and sell equipment and offer tank rental with either air or special mixes.
Furthermore we offer guided cave dives with specialized and experienced guides. After safety a personalized service is our highest priority. We plan every dive carefully and our cave diving groups never consists of more than 3 divers. This is to ensure the ideal conditions for a safe and enjoyable dive in the amazing caves.
Each experienced diver has the opportunity to get certified for cave diving. The course involves learning technical diving skills and the placing of guidelines, personal markers and arrows for navigation, diving with double tanks, adhering to the rule of thirds for air consumption and diving with complex equipment. All possible situations of distress will be simulated during the course from out of air and light failure to line problems. The student will be taught how to react and how to exit the cave in each of these situations.
After 7 to 10 days of intensive dive training your heart will be beating even harder for the wonders of diving and your newly learned knowledge and obtained certification as a cave diver will enable you to enter the ramified halls of Xibalba alone and admire this impressive underwater world.
